I downloaded and tried out Chromium which is just a completely open source version of Chrome. I really did not notice much of a difference. My bookmarks and folders carried over from Chrome when I logged in. I was able to use my extensions, log ins to websites, and settings on websites stayed with me. The only drawbacks the I could see were that Chromium does not automatically download new updates, some codecs for videos are missing, and it has a weaker version of flash. I watched some Youtube videos and did not have any problems with them, they looked the same on Chrome and Chromium as did the forums I frequent. I am going to explore the community further and see what else is out there for Chromium. I like it so far, but it is not enough to make me switch from regular Chrome.
